Recently, Brea celebrated its Centennial. This celebration marked 100 years of growth and change in this wonderful city. The Centennial Parade
Brea’s Centennial Celebration will kick off with a parade through the heart of the city. Make sure to come out and catch this once in a century celebration! The Centennial Parade will be celebrated with over 90 entries. The parade promises to be a fun-filled family event that is full of surprises. Expect to see a wide range of classic cars, animals, musicians, community groups as well as local personalities.
Some of the highlights of the parade include:
• The USC Trojans marching band
• Local actress Angela Barber from Full House
• Local baseball legends Randy Jones and Charlie Hough
The Centennial Picnic
Make sure to join in on Brea’s Centennial Celebration by joining the fun at the Centennial Picnic. This epic picnic will take place on May 20 at the Brea Sports Park between 11am and 3pm. All of the food available at the picnic will feature 1917 prices so make sure to bring your piggy bank!
Several baseball games will also be a part of the picnic. These games will re-enact the Babe Ruth vs. Walter Johnson exhibition matchup that was hosted in Brea in 1924. This is a family event so make sure to come out and enjoy an afternoon in the sun!
Brea Centennial Night at Angel Stadium
To keep the celebration going, make sure to purchase your ticket to the upcoming Brea Night at Angel’s Stadium. On July 18, mark Brea’s Centennial with a special roped off tailgate party. The first 4 000 ticket holders will also receive a commemorative Angel’s baseball cap with Brea’s Centennial logo. Make sure you are a part of this historical celebration and purchase your tickets early!
