The holiday season is upon us once again – that special time that brings friends and family together. Make sure to get out and enjoy some of the community minded holiday activities that abound in Brea. As the premier real estate agent in homes for sale in Brea, I would like to share these can’t miss community events that are sure to get you into the holiday spirit.
Tree Lighting Celebration
Help kick off the holiday season and be a part of Brea’s annual tree lighting. This free event will take place Thursday, December 8 at 6:30 pm at the front steps of the Brea Civic and Cultural Center. Live music and a visit from Santa are all part of this special evening. This Brea tradition is a great way to support the community and get in some holiday cheer.
Photo with Santa
Make sure to get your picture taken with Santa at the Brea Mall this holiday season. This event is suitable for children up to 12 and begins on November 9.
Letters to Santa
Beginning December 1, a special mailbox will be located in the Community Center. Make sure to write your letter to Santa and get a personalized reply. All letters must be dropped off no later than December 14. Be sure to enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope so Santa can reply quickly.
Reindeer in the Redwoods
Get outside this holiday season. Carbon Canyon Regional Park is home to Reindeer in the Redwoods. Complete the half-mile walk to Redwood Grove and be rewarded with a Winter Wonderland complete with Santa and live reindeer. There are also holiday gnomes hidden along the way so make sure to keep an eye out.
Nutcracker Craft Boutique
Get a head start on all of your holiday shopping at the Nutcracker Craft Boutique. This annual event is home to over 250 vendors who offer one-of-a-kind hand-crafted holiday gifts that are sure to please even the hardest person to buy for on your holiday list. Parking is free and there are snacks and beverages available at the Food Alley.
Toys for Tots
Tap your inner Santa and help those less fortunate by leaving an unwrapped new toy in the Toys for Tots bin at the Brea Community Center.
Community Food Drive
This holiday season, donate to Brea’s annual food drive. Drop off non-perishable items until December 15 at the following locations:
- Brea Civic and Cultural Center
- Brea Community Center
- Brea Senior Center
- City Maintenance Yard
