The summer season is a special one in Brea; the city comes alive and the fun never stops. Before booking your holidays, you may want to have a look at the some of the great summer venues that are going on right in your own backyard. As the premier realtor for all your Brea real estate needs, I would like to share some of my favorite Brea festivals and events that take place over the summer months.
Now in its 32nd year, this free community event is the largest of its kind in all of Orange County. Brea Summerfest is a 3-day celebration of family and fun. With a host of live music venues, rides and food vendors this popular community event is a great way to kick off the summer season in Brea.
4th of July County Fair
Be sure to mark your calendar for Brea’s 4th of July County Fair at City Hall Park. The festivities kick off with a pancake breakfast followed by an all-day fair. The fair is chock full of live entertainment, a kid’s parade, food, games and exhibits. Come celebrate Independence Day Brea style at this family-friendly, free, all-day event.
Brea Fest: A Taste of the Arts
The “tastiest” summer celebration in Brea brings together over 30 chefs and restaurants, live music, local artists and performers to this popular community event. This family-friendly event is home to “Kidsville” and includes face painting, make and take crafts and kid-approved foods prepared by local chefs. Do not miss this summer culinary adventure.
The city of Brea is home to a host of different green spaces and parks. The parks that abound in the city are another great way to spend a warm summer day. Some of the more popular local parks include:
- Ted Craig Regional Park. This park features public barbeques and an area complete with picnic tables. The park is also home to a variety of sports facilities such as baseball diamonds, bicycle trails, fishing and basketball courts.
- Carbon Canyon Regional Park. The park is home to a wide range of facilities that include hiking trails, a man-made lake, sports facilities and playgrounds. Carbon Canyon Park also contains a small forest of Redwood trees. Get there early to avoid the crowds, especially on the weekends.
- Brea Sports Park. There are three separate playgrounds that cater for toddlers to teenagers at this multi-facility park. There are also a wide range of sports facilities for Brea-based organizations and community sports teams to enjoy.
- City Hall Park. This local favorite hosts an Olympic sized swimming pool, a picnic and play area and facilitates many of the local community events such as the 4th of July party, Concerts in the Park and the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.
You will not want to miss out on these exciting summer venues. The best part about many of these community sponsored summer events and festivals is that they are free and family oriented. If you would like more information on any of these or other summer venues or are interested in some of the new and exciting real estate opportunities that abound in Brea, please contact me today.
